This comprehensive rock rescue course will teach you basic rescue skills while climbing, so you can prevent a full-blown rescue. For anyone who climbs trad, this two-day course is mandatory.

Course Details


Protect yourself and your partner in an emergency.  Be prepared!

Topics include:

  • Learn to escape the belay
  • Learn how to set raising and lowering systems
  • Learn to improvise rappels
  • Learn to ascend and descend a rope
  • Learn to pass a knot on rappel
  • Become a trustworthy partner


Experience with basic knots, belaying and climbing commands

Colorado Mountain School offers a 16 bunk lodge that is conveniently located upstairs from our office and classroom in downtown Estes Park.  The lodge features a full kitchen, WiFi, a lounge and hot showers. Reserve a bed now for just $40 per night (plus tax).
