COVID-19 Policy
Colorado Mountain School (CMS) utilizes the guidelines listed below in order to best protect the health and safety of its students and staff during the COVID 19 pandemic. These guidelines may change in order to follow local, state and federal guidelines and as changing conditions warrant.
CMS is excited to begin to return some courses back into the classroom. In order to conduct classes in a manner that reduces the likelihood of transmission and infection of COVID-19, the following practices will be employed:
Stay Home if Sick
We ask that students and staff assess themselves prior to the beginning of a course and each subsequent day of the course. If symptoms are present please inform CMS of your situation and do not show up to class. Symptoms of COVID-19 may include: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea. CMS strongly encourages minimizing time spent in crowded public places prior to the beginning of a course to minimize the likelihood of developing symptoms.
Vaccinations are Strongly Encouraged
Vaccinations have shown to drastically reduce the severity of symptoms. Vaccines are widely available and help to reduce the overall number of infections within communities.
Contingency Plan
Courses being conducted in classrooms will have the option to return to 100% online learning and traveling in pods in the field in the event of a dramatic rise in cases or other unforeseen circumstances.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel due to COVID-19 related circumstances, please contact the CMS office immediately. We will consider your scenario on a case-by-case basis.
