Colorado Mountain School guides have worked on many productions, commercials and feature films.  We are flexible and creative, bringing security and quality to every production project. Our guides and riggers hold extensive certification through the American Mountain Guide Association. They are internationally recognized professionals and renowned experts in high angle terrain with extensive experience in the film industry and rigging world. Many of our guides have worked for Yosemite and Rocky Mountain National Park Search and Rescue teams and are members of American Mountain Guides Association instructor team.

Colorado Mountain School coordinates closely with each production team to reduce risk for film crews and on-camera talent, while maximizing efficiency and maintaining challenging production timelines.  We assess mountain terrain, conditions and avalanche risk, rig cameras, booms, and drones and manage anchors, fixed lines and fall protection.

CMS Guides often assist with industrial, film and entertainment rigging services.We also provide climbing, skiing and mountaineering expert consulting to provide the technical expertise required for the knowledgeable viewers of your production. Many years of experience teaching in the mountains allows us to provide applied training for actors so that they may portray credible mountaineers or climbers. We work with each team to build a progression for your talent or film crew – mitigating risk and ensuring authenticity for your production.

In addition to working behind the scenes, our guides are full time professional climbers and can act as climbing talent in a variety of locations and conditions.  We have extensive experience scouting locations, saving production companies time and money while delivering stunning shooting locations from the steep red walls of Utah to the jagged cliffs of Rocky Mountain National

Colorado Mountain School guides are certified by the American Mountain Guide Association, which is highly regarded and internationally recognized by the International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations. All of our guides hold Wilderness First Responder medical certification (or greater).
