Originally from the Northeast, Eric grew up in southern Rhode Island. He played volleyball and basketball in high school before his interests transitioned to non-traditional pursuits. After learning to ski at the age of 7, Eric’s love for the outdoors flourished and after watching the 1990’s classic action film “Cliffhanger,” decided he wanted to live and work in the mountains. From day hikes to backpacking, fourth class scrambles, and technical rock climbs, Eric followed the path of natural progression to his passion: climbing.
Eric learned to place to gear before ever touching plastic holds and without the security of a top rope. His first climbing experiences were on the excellent granite cliffs of New Hampshire’s White Mountains. Since then, Eric has climbed grade VI walls in a day, difficult sport and trad routes and long ski traverses around the globe. Eric has pursued climbing as a lifestyle and profession and continues his lifelong dedication to constant skill development.
He graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Outdoor Leadership from Western State College of Colorado in Gunnison, Colorado. Eric is the Head Guide at the CMS, an IFMGA Licensed Mountain Guide and Instructor Team Member for the American Mountain Guides Association.
