AMGA SPI Guide Josh Burke. As a Colorado native, Josh grew up with a deep love of the outdoors. Throughout his childhood, his weekends were spent hiking, camping, and skiing. He started climbing at age fifteen at a local indoor wall and never looked back. Since then, Josh spent four years, including a year and a half overseas, serving in the United States Marines and has earned his Single Pitch Instructor certification with the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA). He is also a certified Wilderness First Responder.
Josh is currently working toward his Rock Guide certification with the AMGA, and continues to climb harder routes around Estes Park, Boulder, and surrounding areas (including 11d sport routes around Clear Creek Canyon). His passion for sharing the sport and teaching skills to new climbers makes him an exceptional guide.

Testimonials

“Well Organized, Professional, and Safe”

I recently completed the Intro to mountaineering course. It was an amazing experience. Very well organized, professional, and safe. Our guides; Mike Coyle and Josh Burke where extremely knowledgeable. They had a great way of keep the intimidation factor down, while making sure we were prepared to execute the objective. I plan on using CMS in the future.

“Patient, Fun Instructor”

Josh was a patient, fun instructor. Two of our group had never climbed outdoors and walked away from the experience excited and feeling like they’d learned a lot.
