Rob grew up in Southern California learning to climb and backcountry snowboard in Yosemite and the Sierras. While studying Resource Conservation in University, Rob began his career as a mountain guide and chose to study in various locations around the world which allowed him to build a diverse skill set in the mountains. After finishing University he traveled the world guiding, climbing and snowboarding. For over a decade Rob traveled between the Canadian Rockies, Chamonix, Patagonia, Alaska and Yosemite. Now Rob splits his time between Boulder, Colorado and Chamonix, France with his wife Jackie and his cat Bugaboo.
Rob is an AMGA Mountain Guide certified in all three disciplines (Alpine, Rock and Ski), but completed the ski component entirely on a splitboard. Rob is obsessed with fast and light Alpinism. Some of his achievements in recent years include the first ascent of the “Hunger Games” on an unclimbed Tower in the San Lorenzo Massif of Patagonia. He also completed the first one day ascent (18 Hours) of the Infinite Spur on Mount Foraker in the Alaska Range (3,000 Meters, WI4+ M5) with his long time climbing partner.
Rob is also very active in the disciplines of: ice climbing, rock climbing, mixed climbing as well as alpinism. When Rob is not guiding or coaching he can be found traveling the world practicing these crafts. Rob’s pursuit of another big alpine face or a snowboard mountaineering descent is never ending.
Whether its a Powder day in the Alps, steep waterfall ice in the Canadian Rockies or climbing a classic in Rocky Mountain National Park, Rob’s passion for providing safe and unique climbing and snowboarding/skiing experiences will allow you to achieve your goals in some of the most amazing mountain environments around the world.
