Steve Levin, AMGA Certified Rock Guide. Steve Levin’s first climb was a guided ascent in 1972 of the Upper Exum in the Tetons, an experience that instilled in him a love and respect for the mountains. Since then Steve has travelled and climbed throughout the US and abroad. His favorite Colorado climbing areas are Eldorado Canyon (for which he wrote the guidebook); the Black Canyon of the Gunnison; and the granite walls of Rocky Mountain National Park.

Steve is an AMGA Certified Rock Guide, a Wilderness First Responder, and an AMGA Single Pitch Instructor (SPI) Provider. He also works as an Adaptive Climbing Trainer with Paradox Sports. He lives in Boulder, Colorado with his wife Sheryl Lehman.

As a Colorado Mountain School guide, Steve spends equal time private guiding, instructing technical rock clinics and SPI courses, and working specialized programs like improvised rock rescue with the Rocky Mountain National Park climbing rangers, or roped evacuation with the Air Force 48th Rescue Squad paratroopers. Steve also co-leads 10 & 12-day Mexican winter rock climbing trips for CMS to the colonial El Bajío region north of Mexico City.
