Karin Pocock

Karin grew up ski touring and climbing in the Coast Mountains and North Cascades of British Columbia. She got her start in the industry in outdoor education in 2002 and began technical guiding in 2003. Karin is a Certified Rock Guide and is actively pursuing further training and certification with the AMGA (American Mountain Guides Association) moving towards certification as a mountain guide. She has also spent the better part of 12 winters working as an avalanche technician, forecaster and avalanche educator in the mountains of BC, Alberta, and Colorado. She is a professional member of both the American Avalanche Association and Canadian Avalanche Association.

Karin is presently a full-time ski guide and AIARE course leader in a variety of locations in Colorado. She spends the rest of her year traveling and working in rock and alpine environments throughout western North America. Karin enjoys sharing her passion for wild outdoor spaces with her guests whether on the sandstone cliffs of the desert or the snow covered reaches of the mountains. She currently calls both Crested Butte, Colorado and Cumberland, BC home and travels extensively in the west for both work and play.
