Overview:
If you’ve been leading your own ice climbs, you’ve probably seen climbs that keep going higher and higher up the flow, and you may have longed to learn the technical skill needed to explore that terrain yourself. The Multi-Pitch Ice Climbing course is the answer you’ve been looking for. We’ll teach you how to anchor your team and belay anywhere on the ice. We’ll teach you how to improvise rappel stations so that you can get up and down efficiently. We’ll teach you how to manage the rope when the ledges are so slippery, how to belay a second and a leader. Lastly, we’ll teach you how to hastily retreat if the weather or conditions invite you to come back another day.
The Multi-Pitch Ice Climbing lessons focus on demonstrations and ground school, and utilize smaller climbs and shorter ropes to give teams an opportunity to build more anchors, manage the rope more frequently, ask more questions of our guides and instructors.
