Hours of Fun

You’ll start by participating in a quick gear demo and fitting session (rentals included) at our Boulder headquarters inside of Neptune Mountaineering. Want your own gear? We can help with that. Upon enrolling in the course, you’ll receive a 20% discount on a CAMP USA climbing gear starter kit when purchased at Neptune Mountaineering in Boulder! Please come early or in advance to purchase your kit if interested in your own setup.

After gearing up, you’ll learn about the safety rope systems involved before taking a trip to a nearby outdoor climbing crag in Eldorado Canyon State Park.

This venue provides fantastic opportunities for beginners and experts alike to progress their skills on the rock. You’ll get over two hours of climbing and hands-on coaching from our professional mountain guides, all of whom have received training from the American Mountain Guides Association.

Your trained rock guides will lead a fun and rewarding evening of rock climbing. This outing is bound to be an adventure you won’t soon forget. Did we mention the photos and views are Instagram-worthy? Your friends will be jealous.

Climbing Pants, Shorts or Capris

For all seasons, cotton, loose-fitting (or tight, stretchy) pants are usually acceptable for rock climbing. Shorts are acceptable during the summer - though shorts expose the knees and shins to abrasions. New climbers are encouraged to wear pants or capris. A synthetic material (like in softshell pants) may be required by your guide due to potential rain storms.

Rock Climbing Shoes

Technical rock shoes are required. For beginning climbers, having a looser fit is advisable. In this case, loose means that toes are touching the front of the shoes when standing, but are not forced against the front of the shoe. In colder weather, thin socks inside climbing shoes are a great option. On long routes, rock shoes should be comfortable enough to wear for day.
