RAB Boreas Pull-On Review

RAB Boreas Pull-On Gear Review by CMS Guide Max Lurie. Wind Layer jacket that is light and versatile.  RAB Boreas Pull-On

From Rocky Mountain National Park, to the North Cascades National Park, to Denali National Park and beyond the RAB Boreas Pull-On is my go to piece for a wide range of activities.

As a mountain guide I am often asked, “what do I wear” from folks I climb with and more often than not, they produce big bulky insulted soft shells jackets more suited for the winter. The Boreas Pull-On is so light and packable, meaning you wont even notice you are carrying it. Not that it will ever be in your pack. Its soft stretchy fabric moves with you when you climb and breaths during high aerobic outputs.

Conversely, when I stop moving it traps the air and adds a surprising amount of insulation for its mass. When climbing mountains properly layering clothes is such an important and oft overlooked aspect.

The Boreas Pull-On works great in conjunction with other layers depending on the season and activity. It is a crucial piece for wind protection and I don’t leave home without it no matter my objective.
