The Marmot ROM Jacket is a versatile soft-shell jacket that is well-suited for spring and fall activities or summer alpine climbs. It’s the perfect layer for those cool temperatures that do not require a lot of insulation. ROM stands for Range Of Motion. Thus, the jacket has a good amount of stretch when you are rock climbing, alpine climbing or spring skiing. The Women’s ROM Jacket uses two fabrics; WINDSTOPPER® Softshell for the front and back, and Polyester Stretch for the arms and sides. The jacket is water resistant, but is not intended to replace a rain jacket.
I have tested the ROM Jacket on alpine snow climbs in Rocky Mountain National Park as well as spring skiing throughout the Front Range. This jacket is ideal for cool mornings and offers lightweight protection while climbing windy ridges. The jacket features an attached hood, large zippered pockets, a chest pocket, vented side panels, and an elastic draw cord hem. It comes in four different, fun colors. This jacket is great for any activity in cool temperatures whether it be cross-country skiing, backpacking, hiking high peaks or hanging out in mountain towns during cool evenings. For the guys out there, check out the men’s ROM jacket. For more information on this awesome jacket, go to Marmot.com/products/womens.
